This very healthy digipack DJ Promo CD comes courtesy of Alifunk (José Manuel to his Mum) who was kind enough to upload and share the wealth. José, I'm sure I'm not the only one here that appreciates getting hold of this release. Respect!
1999 was a great year for the UK Dance scene. The UK Garage scene had opened up the flood gates and amongst the detritus there were a few serious contenders. Mark Hill, better known as Artful Dodger, was one such person, putting Southampton on the production team map.
D-Influence started out in 1991, forging a name for themselves with their unique brand of Soulful, Jazz orientated Electronica. They soon became an 'in demand' production team on the remix wishlist. I believe Kwame Kwaten & Ed Baden-Powell were responsible for the remixes but don't quote me.
Trevor Henry and Anthony Marshall crashed onto the scene in 1993 with a little ditty called Phat Girls. Trell & Marshall, as they like to refer to themselves, were soon too be found providing Ignorants remixes for all the best UK R&B artists and their own music was shelved.

I'm a huge Lynden David Hall fan - I met him briefly at Carnival one year and he was the most wonderful, kind and generous man.
Love and miss you, Lynden xxx

RIP Lynden.
ReplyDeleteWicked track & one of the best ever Ignorants remixes! absolutely wicked remix.
Funny enough I played this just yesterday!!
There were a couple of Ignorants mioxes I really like... I remember sickeningly nice pop R&B trio "The Honeyz" had a track called "End of the Road", which was pretty poor, but the Ignorantz got hold of it and turned it into a monster. Has anyone got this?
ReplyDeleteI think there was a remix of a Kele La Roc I really liked as well?
I was a fan of David Lynden Hall, unfortunately he left us early, his memory was immortalized as works like this. I let a link dedicated to all the fans for download this remix which I think is one of the best. http://www.sendspace.com/file/xuoimy
